Gail Franck

VP, Finance

“A lot of people cringe at the numbers side of an organization; I love it,” says Gail. “For me, it’s all a big puzzle. My job is to find the best way for us to do the things we do within the parameters set by the IRS and others.”

Gail came to the Case Foundation in 2007. Before that she honed her puzzle-solving skills at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and as a consultant. She has spent her career in the nonprofit space advising organizations small and large how to best use their resources.

Besides puzzles, Gail enjoys sailing, cooking, and traveling.

Charitable deductions: Thoughts on Tax Day

Ah, April 15. Today is a day I am proud to be an American. For me, filing my tax return feels patriotic. Since 1913, one of our rights and responsibilities has been paying an income tax. And one of the remarkable aspects of our tax system is that each one of us is responsible for our own compliance. We each report and pay our own taxes. In this way, my country depends on me to fund the common good.
