Whether giving their time to their children, opening up their homes to friends and loved ones, volunteering for their school or favorite cause, mothers are an ultimate embodiment of giving back. However, between professional, family and other obligations, it's easy for a mom to feel overwhelmed and find little time to give back to herself. As Mother's Day approaches, we at the Case Foundation have been thinking about how to reward moms for all of the giving they do to others. We've always been interested in the potential of technology to change the way we live, work and do good, and that's why we're particularly excited today to let you all know that we're giving away two iPad™s for a great mom in your life.
You may be wondering, how does an iPad™ give back to a busy mom? I can say first-hand that it has the potential to transform your productivity and possibly introduce a little more fun in your life. :) I've been lucky enough to have an iPad™ for the past several weeks, and as a busy mom myself, one of the biggest benefits is that it has been able to turn non-productive time into productive time - even more so than my iPhone. Whether it's for business purposes - such as making it even easier to catch up on news, websites and email while waiting with my daughter at the doctor's office - or personal - such as watching a video or reading a good book on the treadmill or checking recipes while preparing dinner, the iPad™ has added productivity to my day in a fun and more engaging way.
We also believe that there is tremendous potential for iPad™s to connect not just busy moms but all users with applications for social good. We know that most moms are the Chief Charitable Officers in their homes. As such, we are building on what's already been done for iPhones and other mobile platforms by bringing together a special Mother's Day blog series from our team with suggestions on great do-good apps and books to fill up your Mom's new iPad™ (or your own)!
