Video: Ask the Guru with Holly Ross

We had another great Gear Up for Giving Ask the Guru Session yesterday with Holly Ross, Executive Director of NTEN. Not only were viewers enthusiastically asking great questions, but Holly got to quickly crowdsource a name for the NTEN penguin mascot. Talk about social media in action!

Watch the taped session below to see answers to the following questions and more.

  • How do you measure the ROI of your social networking efforts?
  • Are donors and funders really using social media to evaluate a nonprofit for funding?
  • What five social media applications can’t you live without? Twitter applications?
  • There is a lot of talk about listening via social media. What does that mean and how is it done?
  • How much do your demographics matter? Should you approach different demographics, for example youth versus adults, differently?
  • Does all of the activity on your social media presences drive people away from your organization’s website? If so, is that good or bad?

Tune in next Tuesday at 1PM ET for our next session with Beth Kanter. Get ahead in the question queue by sending them in advance to gearup [at] casefoundation [dot] org or tweet them using the hashtag #AGC.

Update 9/25/2009: The transcript of Holly's session is now available!
