Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC2)

In 2001, shortly after being diagnosed with brain cancer, Steve Case’s brother Dan joined his wife Stacey, along with Steve and his wife Jean, in creating ABC2. The organization has a singular focus: to find a cure for brain cancer. Jean and Steve Case also serve on the board of ABC2.

A Different Approach to Cancer Research

Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure believes that a nimble, focused and aggressive entrepreneurial model will increase the number of thereapies discovered and then enable those therapies to be more rapidly driven into the clinic. ABC2 provides researchers with the pivotal support they need to make critical breakthroughs and fund novel translational research aimed at finding the fastest possible route to a cure for brain cancer.

ABC2's partners range from medical research centers to early-stage biotechnology companies to large multi-national pharmaceutical companies. Since brain cancer affects a relatively small portion of the population, ABC2 recognizes the importance of investing in the early stages of the most novel sectors of the discovery and development pipeline in order to “buy down the risk” for our partners and speed progress of innovative new treatments to the clinic.

ABC2 has awarded over $13 million to fund brain cancer research. It invests in each stage of the therapeutic development pipeline. ABC2’s Pre-Clincial Screening Program breaks down barriers to entry, its Research Grants focus on novel therapies, and its investments with companies seek to bring the most promising treatments to patients quickly.

Join in the Fight

Fighting brain cancer is a team effort. In order to raise support for vital brain cancer research and to raise support in local communities, ABC2 hosts a series of events. Please consider joining ABC2 along with brain tumor survivors, friends, families and other supports in Florida, Seattle or Washington, DC.
